How SEO keyword targeting works, from export to a written plan
- 01 / export
Grab your data.
In Google Search Console, open Performance and hit Export in the top right: Download Excel uploads as-is, or Download CSV and use the Queries.csv inside the zip. In Bing Webmaster Tools, open Search performance, scroll to List by, pick the Keywords pill, and hit Download all. You don't need API keys or tracking scripts.
- 02 / analyze
The algorithm does the hard part.
SEO Pinpoint's algorithm works through every keyword your site already appears for and gives each one a Pinpoint Score from 0 to 100. The score combines keyword difficulty with several signals from your own search data, so what rises to the top is what you could realistically win rather than whatever pulls the most impressions. This is the part we've spent the most time on, and it's what separates a real shortlist from a list of everything. Pro reports show the monthly search volume and the search intent beside each keyword too.
- 03 / write
AI writes the plan.
The keywords the algorithm picks out reach the AI with your real numbers attached, so it writes an ordered plan naming your figures: what to change, in what order, with the copy for each step. Hand it to ChatGPT or Claude and your assistant ships the changes.
Why this isn't a ChatGPT prompt
A prompt sees whatever you paste and guesses. SEO Pinpoint runs your export through our own algorithm first, built for this one job and tuned on real search data. Only the keywords it picks out reach the AI, which is why the plan names your real numbers instead of giving generic advice. If you are weighing up a full suite alongside it, start with SEO Pinpoint vs Ahrefs.
- run_the_algorithm()
Only the keywords worth your time
Your export holds thousands of queries and a handful matter. Our algorithm works through all of them and hands back the shortlist, so what you spend your afternoon on is arithmetic rather than opinion.
- find_the_gap()
The wording you're missing
The algorithm surfaces the phrasing your audience searches with but your pages never use, so it shows up as a gap you can close. Duplicate URLs quietly splitting one page between two addresses get caught too.
- ai_writes_the_plan()
AI that writes the changes for you
The keywords our algorithm picks out go to the AI with your figures attached. Back comes an ordered plan: what to change, in what order, with ready-to-use copy for each step.
How to grow your site and get more users
Most advice on getting users assumes you can spend: run ads, hire a writer, publish weekly. If you're one person with a product and a small budget, the cheapest source of new users is the search traffic you are already almost getting. Here is why that is the place to start.
- already_ranking()
You rank for more than you think
Sites pick up impressions on queries nobody planned for. Some of those are far cheaper to win than anything you'd pick from scratch, and telling them apart is what our algorithm is for.
- close_the_gap()
Your best SEO opportunities are often already on your site.
Our algorithm isolates the pages worth working on, then the AI writes the changes that push them higher, naming the keywords to work in and where they belong.
- compound()
Search traffic keeps arriving
A launch spike ends. A page that ranks keeps bringing people in every week without you posting anything, which is what makes search worth the effort for a small team.
How that plays out depends on what you are running. Read the version for small businesses, for SaaS startups or for side projects.
Target better keywords. Watch traffic climb.
We identify the keywords worth targeting, then track the impressions and clicks as they grow.
